MOTORISING YOUR MOBILE TERRACE

Solar motorisation on a rail for a mobile terrace

Specially adapted engines

We offer a motorisation system specially designed for mobile terraces.

This is an integrated system, designed and built in France, which can also be used for swimming pool covers and other mobile elements. The system consists of a powerful, thin motor that drives one or two rubber wheels. These two wheels are braided very tightly on the ground thanks to a special spring. The motor is powered by a 12V battery, which in turn is recharged by photovoltaic cells placed on top of the casing.

A reliable, autonomous motor

The system is therefore completely autonomous, and does not need to be connected to the mains. We offer a cover in anthracite grey, which is suitable for most of our projects. This cover can be powder-coated in other colours on request.

For mobile terraces, our motorisation system has two integrated wheels that press down on the ground simultaneously for excellent grip, allowing the mobile terrace to be put into action.

We offer 3 configurations:

  • For a small mobile terrace: a single motor on one side.
  • For large movable terraces: two synchronised motors installed on either side of the movable terrace.
  • For very large projects, we can offer up to 4 drive systems.

Motorised lock for mobile terrace

The motorised system for moving your mobile terrace includes a locking system. This system is activated once the mobile terrace is closed, ensuring that your mobile terrace remains in the closed position, without being affected by the weather.

From left to right: in black, the 12-volt battery. In grey, the electronic control box. Above in black, the protective casing with its photovoltaic cells. The two rubber wheels, and on the right, the wheel pressure spring with its adjusting nut.

Inside the housing: the two in-line motors and, in black, the gearbox and gears.

On the left are the oval lights for fixing the system.

The left-hand section is riveted in place. If you don't have these tools, you can also fix the motor using metric screws and nuts. Or use wood screws with a minimum diameter of 6 mm for mobile wooden decking.

The right-hand plate is fixed. The pressure is adjusted by turning the adjusting nut.

After fitting, connect all the control elements to test the motor operation. Be careful not to pinch or damage any cables when fitting the protective cover.

To test systems with 2 or 4 motors, ALL the equipment must be connected. Here's an example of a temporary connection, just to make sure that the first motor works properly.

All components are supplied with crimped lugs of different sizes. So you can't go wrong. Assembly is quick and easy. Here's the special connector for the motors (two motors = 2 connectors)

Battery and control box connected using different terminals.

To test the operation of the motors, we used simple Wago connectors. Then, to connect the motors, we used the waterproof connectors supplied. These are connectors with integrated gel. See the video explanation on the Terrasse-mobile.net website

All the connections have been completed. All that remains is to fit the protective casing.
